experience in modern, ballet, and/ or jazz techniques.
Cost: $80 for the entire series, $15 drop-in

the Spine." In this variation of hatha yoga, you will be learning how
the body works in the asanas, as an organic process of undoing tension,
finding wholeness in movement, and developing freedom through the spine.
Experience aliveness, and beauty with a sense of ease, depth, and gentleness.
Everyone will receive individual attention.

The deep relaxation technique called Yoga Nidra, sometimes called ‘yogic sleep’ is not sleep at all but rather a state of dynamic awareness, which is wonderfully peaceful and relaxing. The conscious mind is focused inward away from physical experience, while remaining alert and focused. You will learn several comfortable supine postures using props and supports which will allow your body to completely relax in a safe and comfortable position. Imagery, music and poetry are used to keep the conscious mind awake, aware and focused, while the body rests.
This deeply restorative practice often leads to a profound sense of stillness in which creativity, intuition and peace can arise. These simple techniques can also be used at home to cultivate more peace and relaxation in your life. The workshop is divided into three section, each framed by gentle yoga stretches and movement coordinated with breath awareness. While the content of each workshop changes, the format remains the same. Class limited to 12. Please reserve a space in advance.
Cost: $30

If stepping onto your yoga mat at home seems daunting, if you haven't the
slightest idea where to begin or you're tired of the same videos, DCs or
routines you know by heart, Designing Your Home Practice may be just what
you need to take that first step onto your yoga mat at home. Penny Ballantyne,
a certified Kripalu Yoga teacher and Mound Street Yoga Center instructor
will take the mystery out of establishing a personal yoga practice and making
it a regular part of your daily life.
You will learn the principals of sequencing postures and ways to adjust
your practice to your needs, your time, energy level, health and state of
mind. Learn what you need to enjoy practice at home safely, ways to overcome
inertia and understand why we place roadblocks in our way, denying ourselves
the personal growth and joy of a daily yoga Sadhana (practice). You will
come away with the tools you need to begin practicing yoga on your own,
bringing a new dimension and vitality to the time you spend in class and
in the rest of your life.
Cost: $30
