Restorative Yoga Workshop
with Sara Tirner

Restorative Yoga is simple yet profound. The body is invited to relax as you are supported by props such as bolsters and blankets. The sound of soothing music, the aroma of essential oils and gentle hands on adjustments create a supportive environment so that layers of deeply held tension may be released. With the help of intention and imagery, the mind calms and peace may envelop your entire being. This practice is a gift to the nervous system and can have a profound impact on all essential systems of the body.

Ayurvedic Subtle Therapies

Intelligent Vinyasa
On Saturday, we will explore the internal patterns of breath and movement that will make familiar postures come alive in new ways and we will also explore creative sequences of postures that link with one another creating spontaneous meditation. Excellent for beginners and teachers alike.

Backbends and Inversions
Sunday will focus on preparing the ground for backbends and inversions. Beginning one step at a time students will learn to create intelligent sequences and treat the asana as a form of pranayama and meditation.

These classes are excellent for students of all levels as well as teachers interested in maturing their understanding of the depth of yoga postures and the philosophy that informs them. The workshop is cumulative. Please join for the whole program.

QiGong Workshop

Tap into the ever-present wisdom and vitality of your body and the cosmos. Bring balance to your daily life, release tension and anxiety, increase your energy, become aware, through your own experience, of that which gives life to life.

In this retreat, we will study and practice selected exercises from the 18 Lohan Hands, summoning the qualities of warrior-monk and poet. Open to absolute beginners as well as seasoned practitioners.

Pragata Blaise is the co-founder of the Shaolin Wahnam Mountain Retreat in Costa Rica. He teaches Shaolin Qi Gong in Europe and the US, in hospitals, Zen monasteries, yoga communities and centers for Transformation.

Resistance Stretching™ Workshop
with Tom Longo and Kris Kruse

Resistance Stretching combines flexibility training and yoga postures to create immediate flexibility and strength gains. Resistance Stretching takes the pain out of stretching and protects against injury while giving you a great workout. It is a powerful stretching routine for the whole body. During this introductory workshop you will:

Tom Longo is the West Coast Director for the Meridian Flexibility System, a 15-year certified Resistance Stretching Instructor, and co-founder of StretchWorks, located in the San Francisco Bay area (www.stretchworks.net). He teaches Resistance Stretching classes and workshops and works with individual private clients. Tom was flexibility trainer to Dara Torres both before and during the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, where Dara won two Gold and three Bronze medals for swimming.

Kris Kruse is a ski coach, triathlete, and certified Resistance Stretching Trainer. She has been teaching Resistance Stretching for 3 years. She works with private clients in the San Francisco Bay Area and also on the ski slopes where she is developing an on-snow Resistance Stretching program for skiers (www.skiwithjennifer.com). Kris is a 30-year ski instructor and coach with a unique understanding of body movement and balance.
